Pine Street Inn
Pine Street Inn is a prominent non-profit organization offering comprehensive support to nearly 2,000 unhoused people everyday, including street outreach, emergency services, housing, and employment support. In 2019, Pine Street Inn celebrated their 50th year of operations which was the central theme for all their events. I designed a variety of print & digital event collateral, and illustrations.
50th Anniversary Gala - Save the Date
To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Pine Street Inn hosted a gala at The Cyclorama, Boston. We designed a postcard featuring illustrations of Pine Street Inn’s properties, with their head office and Boston’s iconic skyline in the background.
Our client loved my papercut artwork, and wanted a similar effect in the illustrations. Using this approach and the idea of “cut-out” windows, I illustrated a few properties against their iconic teal colour in the background, with gold text.
The skyline in the background is subtle, creating depth and anchoring the properties to Boston.
50th Anniversary Gala - Invite
We designed a tri-fold printed invitation, which was mailed to invitees in a bright orange envelope.
This layout allowed us to include more properties, and place them on their bright and warm brand palette.
50th Anniversary Gala - Mural
The Cyclorama is known for its iconic circular shape. As a part of the event decor, our client wanted two 100-feet long murals on the wall. We decided to repurpose the property illustrations from the invite.
The illustrations were reversed — set in black on a white background, and illuminated by lights set to Pine Street Inn’s brand colours during the event.
This was a great opportunity to highlight many more properties and encourage attending/prospective donors to contribute to Pine Street Inn’s historic cause.
Home Remedy Breakfast Fundraiser
Prior to the 50th Anniversary Gala, Pine Street Inn hosted their fundraiser breakfast event. For this, we designed the branding, invitation, and event graphics.
This invitation is a gate-fold layout, revealing more information as you unfold the piece.
WBUR Event
Pine Street Inn and WBUR partnered for a live talk, for which we designed a postcard invitation that was mailed to invitees.
